The uncertainty around President Donald Trump’s tariff has cried to markets, but selecting telecom shares can help the portfolio of Boster investors, found by traders from Bank of America. Trump announced a slate of “mutual” tariff on 2 April, sending stocks on a wild ride, investors worry that the policy overhaul may slow down economic growth and perhaps leads to recession. S&P 500 has fallen by about 7% since then, and it is 10% below till date. Bank of America traders have prepared a list of defensive shares in the telecom sector, historically “S&P500 in Down-Teep) has demonstrated a tendency to improve the index.” There is a look at some names which pop up on the firm’s screen. Verizon made the list. Wireless and Home Internet Company shares have upgraded more than 10% in 2025, which is removing the broad market. Overall, 11 out of 27 analysts have a purchase or strong procurement rating on stock, in which the average price target calls with more than 7% inverted, per LSEG. In other places, Evercore ISI analyst Kutgun Maral upgraded the Verizon stock to perform better in the line last week, and also labeled a top pick between its telecom coverage to the firm. Maral also highlighted the strong performance of stock this year “as Bhavna has benefited from a rotation in the wireless sector, giving its defensive characteristics, domestic oblique, and relatively limited risk to tariffs.” SBAC communication also cut. Wireless Communications Infrastructure Company shares have increased more than 12% in 2025 so far, tringing S&P 500. The stock has a dividend yield of 1.9%. “Tower Stocks remain a safe shelter site in our opinion,” the civic analyst Greg Miller wrote in a report earlier this month.
